North Bournemouth Beat Officer’s
Message
This is a really exciting time as we are determined
to get our watch groups working for you. I have not been able
to devote as much time to the watch groups in my areas but
hopefully this will change and I hope to increase the number
of groups. I believe that Neighbourhood Watch/Home Watches
are crucial in bringing the community together.
It is easy to shut ourselves away not knowing the names of
our neighbours. Sometimes we need to be a
bit nosey, who is that calling at the old lady/gents home?
Relative? Friend? Or Conman? What should I do? Ignore
it and hope that it is a friend or relative. It's none of my
business is it?
A Splashing Good Time to Break Vehicle Crime
This new poster will be be on walls, in stores and in offices
as Bournemouth Police's latest crackdown on car crime. Whilst
car crime has dropped between April 2003 and March 2004,
it remains a major Police priority. Operation Wave aims to
reduce and detect vehicle crime.
Watch groups can work, but they can only succeed with your
help and commitment.
Crime will always be with us, but it can be reduced by vigilant,
caring people working towards a common goal of fewer victims
of crime and a safer caring community. To assist me in this
there are a group of dedicated volunteers, who like yourselves
are passionate about NHW and are determined to make a difference.
Best wishes to you and your families.
